Scout: Peregrine Falcon

Scout is an adult male peregrine falcon. He came to our facility with a fractured coracoid apparatus and permanent head trauma. Scout’s injuries have permanently affected his cognitive processes and his ability to fly. His permanent injuries make him incapable of living a successful life in the wild. Scout’s permanent head trauma requires us to be very consistent with his training – otherwise he will forget what he is supposed to do! Although Scout may not be as quick as some of his wild counterparts, he is still a peregrine falcon which is the fastest animal on the planet! Peregrines have been clocked at speeds over 200mph while diving in aerial stoops.
