Volunteer Coordinator & Wildlife Rehabilitation Technician
Cathy Johnson (CJ) started at the shelter in spring of 2017 as a Wildlife Care Steward. Since then, she found a passion for working with wildlife and decided to quit her corporate career to complete a Wildlife Care internship at the shelter. She comes to the Shelter with a background in corporate events, marketing, sponsorships and volunteer coordination. She has over a decade of experience as a volunteer coordinator, working with the Moisture Festival in Seattle. CJ has also volunteered with the Seattle Aquarium, assisting marine biologists with animal care and educational presentations. At the aquarium she was an educator on the floor during school field trip visits and assisted children at the touch tanks. CJ joined the WSWS staff in the winter of 2018 as Volunteer Coordinator and Wildlife Rehabilitation Technician. CJ is also part of the Education Program and is currently working towards increasing her education in Wildlife Rehabilitation. CJ is very excited to use her experience to assist the mission of the Shelter.
